Connect Connecta (WhatsApp MCP) to Gemini Spark

A technical guide. Connecting Connecta to Gemini Spark also works in Israel.

Google lets you connect a custom app to Gemini Spark with an MCP server URL. After you connect it in the Gemini web app, the app is available in Spark on both mobile and web.

This guide follows Google's Gemini Help. We do not invent screens. If Google's UI looks different for you, follow the on-screen instructions.

What you need first

Connecta connects as a Custom Connected App inside Gemini Spark, at gemini.google.com. Not Gemini CLI, not Enterprise, and not regular Gemini chat without Spark.

Per Google, using Spark itself currently requires all of the following:

A Google AI Pro or Google AI Ultra subscription.
Age 18 or over.
Sign in to Gemini with a personal Google Account. Google says this is not available yet for work or school accounts.
Keep Activity turned on. Gemini cannot connect custom apps when this is off.
Connecta's MCP server URL.

Per Google, Spark itself is available wherever Gemini Apps are supported, except the EEA, Nigeria, Switzerland, and the UK. Israel is not on the exception list.

Per Google, Custom apps are still listed as available in the US and in English only, and only in Gemini Spark (web and app). You connect on the web, then it is also available on mobile. If you see Custom apps for Spark, paste the MCP URL.

This is the same URL shown under Connect to AI after you sign in to Connecta.

Connecta supports automatic client registration (DCR). You usually do not need to enter client credentials by hand.

How to add Connecta (WhatsApp MCP)

Google says you add a custom app only in the Gemini web app on a computer. After that, it is also available on mobile.

On a computer, go to gemini.google.com.
At the bottom: Settings & help, then Connected Apps. If you do not see Connected Apps, Google says to open Personal Intelligence first, then Connected Apps.
Under Custom apps for Spark: if this is the first app, use Add a custom app link to get started. If you already connected one, click Add a custom app.
Paste Connecta's MCP server URL.
If the server does not support DCR, Google shows Advanced features. Then click Show more and enter credentials. On Connecta this is usually not needed.
Click Next, then follow the on-screen instructions (approval, then sign in to Connecta).

We do not describe every Google approval screen here, because Google changes them. Follow what you see.

How to use it after connecting

Google's tip: to make sure Gemini uses the custom app, type @ and select it.

In Connecta you can ask to read messages, send, search contacts, or transcribe a voice note. Sending still needs approval, like the other assistants.

Which icon should appear

Connecta publishes an MCP icon at https://wa-mcp.neotechvision.io/static/mcp-icon.png. If Gemini shows it, it is the emerald chat-bubble mark. If you see a generic icon instead, that is the client's choice, not a broken connection.

If something is missing

No Custom apps for Spark: check Spark access, a personal account, and Keep Activity. Per Google, Custom apps are still listed as available in the US. If the item appears for you, paste the URL.
Connection fails after pasting the URL: sign in to Connecta first, and paste the full URL including /mcp.
Disconnect or remove the app in Google, on the same Connected Apps screen, with Disconnect or Remove app.
